The classic enterprise revolves around generating profit: financial and produced capital. Integrated Reporting looks beyond profit alone. Intellectual capital, the social network and natural capital are also pillars that must be taken into account in Integrated Reporting.
The six capitals
The framework, also known as the six-capital model, is based on the different aspects of business, that lead to value creation: strategy, risks and opportunities, governance, performance and prospects. The influence of the company’s environment is just as important and the model takes into account the commercial, social and climate and environmental context.
The framework creates a clear and holistic picture of the way in which an organization creates value, and thus offers tools for integrated thinking, communication and reporting on value creation. That is why it is also called the multiple value creation model.
The next generation accountants within the INTEGRES project receive all the tools to be able to work with them in the future.
