KEY PERSONS
TOM VOS
Tom Vos is a lecturer Economics and Finance at Avans University of Applied Sciences for more than 25 year. He has a master in Economics and Education.
He has broad experience in developing educational material and innovating education. He developed several courses and wrote educational material. Currently he is working for the International Business school (ASIS) of Avans University of Applied Science and is a guest lecture at Accadis Hochschule, Bad Homburg in Germany.
The last 4 years he is a researcher for the Expertise Centre of Sustainable Finance and Accounting. He specialised in Integrated Reporting. He organised masterclasses for business and accounting lecturers and developed courses about Integrated Reporting for Bachelor students. Tom Vos is the coordinator of the INTEGRES project.
MARJOLEIN VAN DER KAA
Marjolein has almost 10 years of experience as a lecturer in higher education at Avans University of Applied sciences. She teaches students of the bachelor program Accountancy. Her fields of expertise are Accounting and Financial reporting. Over the last two years, she has specialized in the topic of Integrated reporting. She has broad experience in developing educational material. She has already developed educational material about the subject Integrated reporting. She has also provided various educational activities on the subject of Integrated reporting. During her career at Avans she has followed various educational courses such as Teaching in higher education – coaching skills – educational design – exam design – learning objectives – rubric design – ICT (flipping the classroom, blended learning, digital assessment) – functioning of the learning brain – the functioning of memory when learning – critical thinking – sustainable development Goals.
She has completed a masterclass at the Business School University of Groningen about reporting and providing assurance in the case of non-financial information.
As a former SME accountant she has extensive experience in advising SMEs. In her role as a lecturer, she also has close connections with SMEs. Because she is still registered in the Dutch register of accountants, she has contacts with other SME accountants on a regular basis.
TAHIS MARTI
Tahis is a researcher in Sustainable Finance & Accounting at the Centre of Expertise Wellbeing Economy and Entrepreneurship at Avans University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (AVANS, 2020). Her graduation thesis was about carbon accounting. She calculated the carbon emissions of the production location of a Dutch food firm and the carbon footprint of some vegetarian snacks.
She is currently studying for a master’s degree in Circular Economy at the HAN University of Applied Sciences, where she is being trained as a change agent to drive the transition towards a circular economy. Her research areas are on multiple value creation, new forms of sustainability and financial reporting, circular economy and accounting in the building sector and sustainable finance.
Petra Amersfoort is lecturer at AVANS University of applied Sciences in Breda since 2016, in the School of Management and Finance. Her main teaching domain is administrative organization, a combination of process management, COSO and Lean principles. Next to teaching activities, Petra is a member of the Curriculum Committee of the Finance & Control programme.In 2022 Petra joined the research team of Sustainable Finance & Accounting, focusing on integrated reporting. Before starting at Avans, Petra worked 25 years in financial management and controlling at (amongst others) international logistical service providers and medical equipment companies. Being responsible for not only the financial management of Dutch companies, but also Belgian, German and French companies, Petra has a wide international experience. Since 2000, Petra is a Qualified Controller and in 2015 she obtained the Master’s degree of Science in Finance & Control, with a thesis focusing on value creation after acquisition.
MARLEEN JANSSEN GROESBEEK
Marleen Janssen Groesbeek is professor Sustainable Finance and Accounting at Avans University of Applied Sciences in Breda, the Netherlands. Her research focuses on multiple value creation, sustainable finance and different types of non-financial reporting. She is responsible for the INTERREG Smart Lighting Project and the Erasmus+ INTEGRES project.
In her inaugural speech she advocated a more activistic approach for stakeholders in order to put pressure on the current economic and financial approach of short-termism and depletion of natural resources.
She has published several books on sustainable business, leadership and creativity. She is a member of the Dutch Sustainable Finance Lab (SFL) and the Advisory Board Responsible Investment of Dutch asset manager PGGM. She is on the board of directors of CE Delft, an sustainability consultancy firm and the ASN Bank, one of the leading sustainable banks in the Netherlands.
CHARLOTTE FILIPPINI
Charlotte Filippini is the senior management assistant at the Expertise Centre Sustainable Business (ESB) of Avans University of Applied Sciences in Breda, the Netherlands. She has been in that role since ESB’s start in 2014.
She is responsible for the daily management of the Professorate Sustainable Finance and Accounting, its professor and the research team. She also assists the management of the INTERREG Smart Lighting Project and the Erasmus+ INTEGRES project. On top of that she supports the management team of ESB.
Before her move to Avans UAS Charlotte worked for many years in vocational education and was manager at IVA Research at Tilburg University and at K2 Knowledge Centre for Youth.
MENNO KROOS
Menno is 26 years old and a positive minded, inquisitive and financially interested person living in Rijen, The Netherlands. Working as Project Controller for Avans University of Applied Sciences in the Integres Project. Graduated from Tilburg University in 2017 with a degree in Economics and Business Economics. Previously worked as Senior Employee Accounts Payable and Employee Reporting at Audax B.V. Started working for Avans University of Applied Sciences in 2019 as Project Administrator and currently working as Project Controller for a diverse portfolio of research projects in subjects like sustainable businesses, biobased materials, IT and primary education.
